Okay since not even the ladies came up with that one I decided to throw them a bone. Lets take a divorce situation with a working career woman. From the financial side, could the probability of a divorce beeing higher counterbalanced by beeing less ruinous or not ruinous at all for the man ? Does the fact that wifey is working have any effect on the loss of assets the due alimony, child support the probability of getting custody ?

Not likely. Remember, “My money is my money, your money is OUR money.”

Women always marry up, this is an undeniable fact of nature. Thus, any woman who earns more than minimum wage, is simply shrinking her pool of men from which to choose a male mate (assuming she’s not a lesbian of course). You can always find exceptions to the rule of women marrying up, but exceptions don’t negate the rule.

Thus, when a single heterosexual man’s income rises — his pool of women to choose from increases proportionately with his increasing income, all else being equal. Oppositely, when a single heterosexual woman’s income rises — her pool of men to choose from decreases proportionately with her rise of income, all else being equal.

When women choose to marry-up, like 99% of all women do, they are practicing sexist discrimination, income discrimation, and possibly racial discrimination and age discrimination — but it’s all good according to today’s fascism.

When a man chooses to shun marriage to a “career woman” based in whole or part on similar ideologies espoused by Noer, such a man is practicing sexist discrimination, income discrimination, and possibly racial discrimination and age discrimination — but it’s all bad discrimination according to today’s fascism.

Dammit! Accidently deleted vs. Editing. Luckily, I copied it.

You would probably have to look up divorce laws on a state by state basis, but from what I have observed, men get raped the worst when the wife has no occupation to fall back on, hence my husband’s best friend is still married to the hag of his nightmares. She’s even cheated on him, and we are not sure that their second child is his, although he thinks it is the poor schmuck. She is a stay at home mom and he barely clears $35,000 per year and he is afraid of getting raped in a divorce (not that he’s not getting raped right now as it is). I think he’s hoping she’ll get a job after the kids are in school before kicking her to the curb, so he won’t have to pay anything over and above the normal child support. She is such a hag. I can’t stand her.

So in some ways, marrying a waman with a decent income is protection to a certain extent, but the pros may not outweigh the cons in any case if you are looking to divorce.

I looked up divorce laws by State and here was a link I came up with. I hope it helps.
