Excellent Article!
Termi0n

Very informative. This is a must read for all men.

Notice the reaction its getting from the career women and “men.” Clearly this article hit a nerve.

Sure. As long as by “men” you mean testosterone-infused former football players who consider subservience, silence, and mouth-breathing stupidity a woman’s sexiest attributes.

The reason this article is getting so many responses is because it’s discriminatory and offensive.

fox: I agree with stupid, but the article isn’t actually “discriminatory.” That would require some sort of actual damage to one party on the basis of some arbitrary factor, like sex. Right now, this author’s just exercising his right to say things that infuriate us. And we have the right to call him out for it.

There’s an argument to be made for just ignoring people like Noer, but I admit that the article infuriates me so much that I’m using my lunch hour to repeatedly refresh the page, too.

I’d take stupid, subservient, and quiet over a loud mouthed, quarrelsome, harpy any day. 😉

But I think what men really want is a loving woman who knows how to raise kids and who will be his help mate. That doesn’t sound unreasonable does it? But a career woman is far from that.

Yeah, I especially like the part where he consistently points out that all Career Men are incapable of being clean or healthy, and that we have unspeakably low self esteem.

I could care less what feminists think this says about women, but I’m pretty **bleep** peeved at what this man is saying about other men. It’s the same Bumbling Man stereotype the media shoves down our throats on an hourly basis.

That’s what’s called a false alternative.

And as for career women being constitutionally incapable of raising children, that’s what’s called an over generalization. I can think of plenty of insipid little prom queens I certainly wouldn’t want raising children. I’m sure you can, too.

So what you’re saying is your want your subservient, stupid wife raising your children.

Yeah, have fun with that.

plastroncafe makes an excellent point. How in the world will your dimwitted wife help the kiddies with their algebra homework? Or read above the fifth grade level?

I’d be more worried about the bitchy career woman neglecting them and/or emotionally abusing them.

Termi0n,
maybe you haven’t met any women like the ones I know: they excel in whatever situation they’re in. When in school they excel. When they’re mothers they excel. When they’re career women, they excel. Women can be both income-generating and loving. You’re not a mother or a wife or a career women or a cook or a maid. It’s possible to play multiple roles which is the fact you don’t get. You obviously have a one-track mind.

Read “this is the funniest article” thread.

Maybe you should consider this: Women can excel in all they do when given the opportunity. Sure, not all. And until they get commitment reciprocated (engaged or married), you won’t know how far they’ll go to fill their new shoes, as they assume the new responsibilities of the role of wife and/or mother. Men should hold up their end of the bargain as well. Perhaps reading this board may make you a bit wiser. Try it, it won’t hurt too much.

YouMustBeJoking

It seems a lot of us registered just to reply to this article. Forbes has always been considered a magazine geared to “The World’s Business Leaders”, but after reading this article I can’t help but wonder how anyone could take the magazine seriously. An editor wrote those words – a man who represents this publication. I can’t imagine a person with integrity making the kind of obviously one-sided and ridiculous comments this man did, so who will “The World’s Business Leaders” turn to now?

If you were a business person, would you want to take the advice of a man who backs up his statements with vague references to more vague sources. I know I don’t and wouldn’t.
I feel very sorry for this man, he seems to have a rather tenuous grasp on life, reality, and the times in general. How he got to his level in the company, I can’t even imagine.
