security, hope, and clarity in a relationship

Reader Response to “Don’t Marry Career Women” – security, hope, and clarity in a relationship

security, hope, and clarity in a relationship

In a country where the divorce rate is now more than 50 percent, the odds suggest you are more likely to have unsuccessful marriage relations than a successful one. For most people, the shadow of this reality provides a pretty pessimistic outlook.

Four of the most common reasons people tend to make poor choices.

1. First Available Syndrome- You are desperate for love and therefore settle for the first available body. i.e. Britney Spears
2. Fooled by the Externals – You are looking for the wrong things and are thereby fooled by the superficial qualities. i.e. Paul McCartney
3. Blinded by Sex – You are literally incapable of seeing the faults and negative traits in another because of the sexual relationship. i.e. Dennis Richards
4. Going Too Fast – You are in such a big hurry to get married that you miss important road signs along the way, i.e. Katie Holmes

One need only ask one simple question:

Do I feel encouraged, affirmed, inspired, and challenged to grow and be a better person when I am with him or her?

If the answer is no, then take action. If the answer is yes cherish it and tell your spouse how much you appreciate them everyday. Life is short, and finding security, hope, and clarity in a relationship is a blessing.
