The author states that working women are more likely to get divorced compared to the married, stay-at-home wife. Even if this were true, it comes down to one thing: options.

Women with careers have more options when faced with an unhappy marriage. Having a career equals financial empowerment and independence in which career women don’t have to rely on a man to “live”. As for the stay-at-home wife, she solely relies on her husband for financial support- these are the type of woman who wind up tolerating abusive and unhappy marriages since they have no other financial means in which to support themselves or their children. The author did not mention happines in these marriages in which the woman has little or no financial control. There are plenty of married women who are miserable and “stuck” in a marriage because of their financial situation.

As for the cheating part, both sexes cheat. To assume that career women are more likely to cheat is ridiculous. Remember the old joke/stereotype about the “mailman screwing around with the stay-at-home wife”? Look back in history and even the present- how many wives cheated when their men went off to war? Yes they have more options than a non-working women, but like all people, they also have the power to control themselves and be loyal to someone they love. People cheat because they are unhappy and feel unfulfilled in some way- that’s the bottom line.

I’m a career woman and **bleep** proud of it. I’ve been in a long-term relationship and I do make significantly more money than my boyfriend. He tells people about my education and my career, and in doing that, I realize he is very proud of me, my career, and my accomplishments.

Now that’s a real man.

So a real man is one who lets his woman keep his balls in her purse as he **bleep**-foots around her? Don’t make me laugh.

Why do you care about what he says to others?

You sound like an old fogie who still has the ideals of the 1950’s.

Working man + Housewife at home = boredom for wife = too much time on her hands = affair = the kids probably aren’t yours.

Um, I’m in my 20’s.

It’s a matter of time before your family sticks you in a home, grandpa.

You’ll be in a strait-jacket mumbling to yourself far before then, honey. That’s if your cats don’t claw you to death in your sleep.
