Unfortunately the reason why we have so many problems in the world today is due to men trying to control and concur.  We see this in the Middle East.   It’s obvious to me that the man of this article views women as mindless slaves.  He obviously desires women to be like Stepford Wives.  A career woman would definitely threaten is obviously frail male ego.  His Taliban thinking will not land him a the wife he desires.  It amazes me how men like him are so threatened by an independent woman.  I know many women, that work, state that their husbands are lazy and will not help out at home in the least.  Many men, it seems, want a wife that will work outside of the home and come home and still take care of his needs while he becomes an engourged coach potatoe.

Very, very true. And that’s why all of the men on this board are completely riled up.

If Westernized women are the be-all-end-all global Kum-bay-yah solution,  then why isnt there heavy negotiating with Islamic countries for Women’s Rights? Where’s NOW? Be careful what you wish for when you poison the Rottweiler protecting the clucking and obnoxious hen-house.  This is not macho bravado, but plain global relational FACT. Accept it or the consequences, cupcake.

I ask that all the time, and still have not heard an answer, and we never will.

I got a better question.

Women, you have had equal rights in the USA for over 30 years.  If the problem is all “men’s fault”, they why haven’t you gotten off your ass and done anything to solve the problem.

Come on ladies, all I see is a bunch of fat, rude, ignorant women, claiming they could fix things, if only given the chance.  Yet you have had the chance for 30+ years.

Cupcake?  Obviously a sexist male–probably over the age of 50.  At least you can spell.

I’m 5’10 and 160lbs, not fat by any stretch of the imagination.  I also have a job that I love (R.N.) and which I chose because it affords me flexibility, more money than I know what to do with, and the chance to do something I really love:  helping people.  I am in a relationship with a man I adore, and have as many friends as I could possibly want.

What is it exactly that I’m supposed to “fix?”  Seems like feminism is working perfectly to me.

The ERA was not ratified 30 years ago.  And as far as equal rights?  Why do white men think they are the only ones entitled to equality?

Pandorasbox are you American ? I wonder what American GIs are thinking plucking out the lead out of their limbs while reading your post, while they try to fight a fight that serves the sole puropse to keep sharia law off the world. I would be doing mutiniy on the spot.

PANDORASBOX123 :

It’s obvious to me that the man of this article views women as mindless slaves.

No, he wants a helpmate.  You seem incapable of conceptualising that a woman can have her own opinions, her own hobbies, her own interests, yet will still willingly participate in a household where she is a homemaker.  Why would she do such a thing?  Well – multiple studies have shown that children who have one parent at home most of the time do better than latchkey kids who rear themselves.  It’s better for the kids.  She’s happy with the arrangement, and grateful for what he does. Civilisation did well with this meme for hundreds of years.

He obviously desires women to be like Stepford Wives.

No, he wants a respectful helpmate who will complement him, not compete with him.

A career woman would definitely threaten is obviously frail male ego.

This tired canard has been trotted out since 1969 whenever any man dares to criticise any aspect of women’s behavior or mention that possibly the current state of The Family is poor and as a result of both parents working and mothers abandoning the home for the office.  It no longer works.

I am not threatened, I simply do not find the average western or american career woman marriage material.

Someone has to cook, clean, wipe noses and rear the kids until they are of school age.  It is best that parents, not strangers in daycare, do this.

His Taliban thinking will not land him a the wife he desires.

Ad hominem insults and name calling don’t strengthen your argument.

It amazes me how men like him are so threatened by an independent woman.

Not threatened.  We just don’t find them marriable or attractive.  These career women and feminists assayed what women found attractive in men, and then assumed that men would find women with the same characteristics attractive as well.  This is not the case, as men generally want women to be feminine, not competitive career women clones of themselves.

Many men, it seems, want a wife that will work outside of the home and come home and still take care of his needs…

Why get married if your partner is unwilling to meet your needs?  I get disagreement and contention all day at the office.  Why would anyone want that at home as well?

The general answer to this is because protest under oppressive conditions often can get you killed, and most people–women included–would rather put up with it than die or be punished or assaulted in other ways.

It would be a smart thing to do your research before forming opinions–here are a few specific answers:

http://www.equalityiniraq.com/english.htm

By the way, have you heard about the 80 US (United States) military recruiters who are under investigation for sexually assaulting female recruits?

Here’s another one:
The International Rescue Committee released a report this week documenting an alarming rise in instances of sexual violence in Darfur. According to the IRC, more than 200 female residents of one refugee camp have been victims of sexual assault in the past five weeks alone. [includes rush transcript]

* Heidi Lehmann technical advisor for Gender-Based Violence programs at the International Rescue Committee. She recently worked to set up programs in Darfur, and returned from Sudan just last month.

On the issue of rape as a weapon of war, before the show we reached Jane Alao Odo. Jane is originally from the South of Sudan. She was displaced from the south early in her life. In 2004 she co-founded the Amel Center for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture. In addition to providing medical support for victims, the Amel Center has attempted to prosecute the perpetrators of rape and torture. Jane talked about the legal obstacles to holding perpetrators of rape accountable, and she also described some of the long-term effects of systematic rape on society.

Hey, let’s perpetuate some stereotypes about the peaceful, loving, nurturing female and the violent, bestial male. Naturally I’m not buying it — plenty of women voted for Bush, and plenty of men didn’t vote for him. Probably the strongest and clearest anti-war voice in 2004 was Ralph Nader, and hardly anyone male or female voted for him. Go figure. [For the record, both my sisters voted for Bush, while my brother and I being in hopelessly red states voted for Ralph…]

“Contrary to many myths about man’s natural proclivity to fight wars, most … men do not make good soldiers. Most men have to be inspired to fight; if that fails, they have to be forced at gunpoint by their commanding officers. Numerous studies have shown that the average soldier is extremely timorous in battlefield situations and that he ‘regresses’ and reacts ‘passively’ under enemy fire. Obviously, as it often includes military obligation, the male role often requires certain kinds of discipline or indoctrination to put reluctant youths in the proper frame of mind.” – David Gilmore

There’s something else you’re missing. Women love these knuckledragging warmongers. I happen to live near an Army base. They’re the grunts and cannon-fodder — yes, there’s still a cavalry in the Army — the lowest of the expendable lower-class and working-class males. Since unlimited immigration has knocked the hell out of wages for unskilled labor, they don’t have a lot of good career choices. Quite a few haven’t made it back from Iraq. And you know what? Everyone of them has a wife. I see the stories on the local news as they trickle in. Yes, it may come as a shock but women actually want these Neanderthals, and what’s worse — they breed with them like mad! The same could be said for other thuggish and gang-leader types.

There are also quite well documented instances during WWII of women publicly shaming men who wouldn’t fight, goading them to own up to their male responsibilities to fight.

I’d also note that it was feminists who were raising a big stink before 9/11 about the Taliban in Afghanistan and what they did to women, effectively egging on the warrior types in this country to be “real men” and do something about it.

The more things don’t change the more they stay the same.

Maybe wars end when it’s the anti-war activists and conscientious objectors who attract the hot babe groupies. But I’m not holding my breath because I know that the average woman is just about as unevolved as the average man is. And when I go to the malls I can’t help but think we wouldn’t be having all these resource wars if women would just stop buying so much STUFF.

violent, bestial male

Bachelor——more men are apt to die a violent death, more men are pulled over for speeding and road rage, men are predominatly the pediophiles, rapists, serial killers….(Look at the BTK—maybe his wife wasn’t “mommy” enough for him so he wanted to kill women.)…..So, yes—-men are the more violent and bestial creatures roaming the planet.

A solution to these throw backs from the Jurassic period might be….Sterialization???

Most men are good guys—but men like this shouldn’t be reproducing.
