Reader Response to “Don’t Marry Career Women” – How Asinine!

This topic is so asinine.  The reason more and more women are becoming career oriented is because we have to!  We can longer depend on men to make the money.  Not to mention cost of living has skyrocketed and it takes two people to make the money in order to live comfortably.  I have heard from so many business men that they want their wives to work, of course they freak when it comes down to the woman making more but that’s the way it goes.  From what I’ve seen when the wife stays home and the husband’s out making the money, traveling etc., he gets bored and starts cheating.  I am not about to not get a degree and not make money just so a guy will marry me, I’d rather live alone.  I am not about to depend on some man.  So, any man who agrees with that article, can go find one of those “nonbusiness, happy women”, We’ll be alot happier without you I can tell you that!

I couldnt agree more. It is true that marriage is hard work and too many end in divorce.  That being said, non-career women have to pay a larger price in getting divorced – thus they are less likely to get divorced.  These women often have inadequate experience to make enough money on their own and rarely is there enough money for her to survive off her 50% (if she gets that much).

Having worked in a man’s world for my entire career, it is true that married men stray – and often.  Unfortuately, a lack of divorce doesnt equal to having a happy marriage.  The happiest marriages I’ve seen are really a partnership where both parties respect and value the other.  This could be where someone stays at home or where both have meaningful careers.  Regardless, equality (in life and work) will never really happen until ridiculous articles like this one stop.  I just found it hard to believe this was in Forbes – and not in the Star…

So your in favour of censorship whenever a man suggests that marrying a certain type of woman will lead to higher rates of divorce (in general terms that is)?

Are you in favour of censorship when women claim that huge percentages of the male popluation are wife beaters and rapists and use falsified statistics to try to prove it? Because thats whats been going on unchallenged in academia and the mainstream media for about 40 years now.

What exactly is so wrong with someone suggesting that someone *not* get married?

Could it be that secretly women see modern marriage as a gravy train whilst publicly proclaiming it to be oppressive to them?

What’s up Doc

My sister is a social worker and worked the women’s shelter for years, then went into adoptions for kids removed by CPS.  I don’t know statistics, but the horrible things done to women and children make one question humanity.  It’s real and sickening with so many cases that she can’t even bring herself to talk about.  I just hate to see you blow it off like it doesn’t happen.

They have to blow it off. It’s how they justify the fear, which justifies their notion of being wronged by outside forces.

Imagine never having to take responsibility for the wrongs you committed in your life. Pretty nice, huh? Now imagine someone challenging that perception. It would freak you out. You’d fight pretty hard and make up just about anything to keep things the way they are, wouldn’t you? That’s what we see here.

Hardly anyone is railing against Forbes for not having the stones to keep the article up. Instead they’re railing against feminists who complained about it. Is there a more perfect metaphor for these guys, or what?

I dont dispute that there are a small proportion of men who are nothing but selfish inhuman monsters. What I dispute is that feminists have used that fact to demonize most males by inflating the statistics way out of proportion. And the reason for this is to gain political leverage. And it’s worked.

Recently an Australian statistics bureau did a survey to ascertain the real extent of violence towards women and the results were not what feminists wanted to hear.
