It might be worthy of investigating and understanding Orthodox Judaism (I am Orthodox male) which has many career women and yet a much lower divorce rate (some say 10%). Understanding and caring for your spouse is key and critical. Said one famous rabbi on a tape about marriage: “If you are in the middle of a board meeting and your wife calls to interrupt, you must announce, ‘Gentlemen (women) excuse me, It’s my wife.’ because it truly must be important for her to interrupt you in such a meeting.” This is the philosophy you should hold. Another truth today is that many men and women simply do not how to communicate in a caring manner to the other (esp. the men).
Another important concept in Orthodox Judaism is that the newly married couple is not supposed to work more than 40 hours per week during the first year of marriage because this is the time for bonding and without this type of start the marriage may never be as wonderful as it could be.
I’m not trying to convert anybody but it might be worth looking into how Orthodox Judaism does things and does allow for very many “high powered” career women who also rear families (Almost always these women marry young and start having children immediately).

On another related topic, there is an Infertility Epidemic because surveys have shown that 3/4 of men and women wait too long to have children with the “biological clock” being age 35 when they think it is 40 (presumably because many celebrities have babies in their 40’s but using donor eggs from women no older than 30).

Women ages 25-30 who expect to delay childbirth beyond 30 — next time you see your OB/GYN should have either antral follicle count or Clomid challenge test b/c many women have a premature decline in fertility. Also within the next year or two there is egg freezing technology with 98% chance of success that will be readily available.
