I sent an email expressing my views.  Here’s his lames excuse from the Editor in Chief himself.  Shows what a poor leader can do to a company – poison his people. Following is the mass email response.

I want to acknowledge your communication with us on the article “Don’t Marry Career Women.” Sensitive issues demand sensitive treatment. The piece that appeared on Forbes.com this past week was intended to be part academic and part humorous. Instead, it profoundly offended hard-working career women everywhere. We deeply regret having done so.

He was probably dumbfounded that an article that gave good sound advice to men based on statistical evidence brought out a bunch of shrieking harpies.

Wow, who would think that a woman who puts her career first might not be the kind of woman that a man looking for a woman to be his wife and a mother to his children would want.

That is what’s wrong with the article – assuming women with career would always put career first. I personally know lots of women with career put their kids and family first. At the same token, I wouldn’t want to marry a man who puts his career first either.

That’s cool as long as you don’t expect to get a new SUV every other year and send your children to private schools etc..

The thought police strikes again only because you FEEL offended does not mean Noer did something wrong. He merely gave an advise. Does Brazil have to excuse itself with Italy for elminating them in 94 in the endgame and making the country feel bad ? Forbes should excuse themselfes for excusing themselfes.

Exactly. His article is an advice article to men, not an all out slam-fest on career women. The reason why the career women are so upset is because men are selectors when it comes to proposing and marriage. And he has told us to avoid them completely. Noer’s article is the same as an article written on cars which says to avoid SUV’s because of high roll over rates, higher gas comsumption, etc. Do you hear car companies whining about it? no, they go back and make the vehicles safer and better. They study the findings, design safer and more efficient mechanisms and produce better vehicles. Maybe women out there should follow this example. the problem isn’t men, its you.

I love the word “regret” because it’s not an apology. It’s a regret.

To all you feminists who are offended by an op/ed piece, TURN THE PAGE! Get over it and develop thicker skin! You have bigger issues to deal with like rolling back the Bush tax cuts and your other ad nauseum pet projects.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to call in my renewal to Forbes magazine. And prepare to battle you on keeping my middle-class tax cut.
